Junior HR Specialist

About the role

Destinus, an international aerospace and defense company developing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), is looking for a Junior HR in Hengelo. The role sits close to the Talent Acquisition team and the HR Business Partner in the Netherlands and covers the employee journey, from recruitment to onboarding and offboarding. It suits someone with initial HR experience who wants to build broader expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist in the Netherlands with recruitment: posting vacancies, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews and keeping candidates informed.
• Support the HR Business Partner with day-to-day HR activities and employee administration in the Netherlands.
• Prepare employment contracts, amendments, letters and other HR documentation accurately and on time.
• Coordinate the HR side of new joiners so contracts, employee information and documentation are ready before start date.
• Support offboarding and other employee lifecycle processes.
• Keep employee information, personnel files and HR systems accurate and up to date.
• Help employees with general HR questions and route complex topics to the right person.
• Support HR processes around leave, absence and employee changes, and contribute to ongoing HR projects.

Required profile

• 0 to 2 years of professional experience in HR, recruitment, HR operations or a similar people-focused role.
• Degree or relevant education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• Some practical experience with recruitment, HR administration, contracts or employee documentation.
• Some knowledge of Dutch employment practices and HR processes is a strong plus.
