Lead Data & Analytics Engineer – Builder-Lead Role

About the role

As a Lead Data & Analytics Engineer you will build the data backbone that powers AI‑driven optimization for supply‑chain and energy applications. The role is a hands‑on builder‑lead position where you will shape architecture, write production code and guide the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data products and services for large, multi‑million‑row datasets.
• Develop reliable AI‑agent workflows for data inspection, transformation and validation.
• Solve complex problems such as SQL generation, schema drift, join performance and data quality.
• Define the technical direction and architecture of the AIMMS Data Backbone.
• Build production‑grade APIs, tests and CI/CD pipelines.
• Research, prototype and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, domain experts and technical leadership.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in backend, platform or data‑intensive software engineering.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Python and SQL.
• Proven track record delivering B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
• Experience building reliable backend services and data products.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor junior engineers.
• Comfort working in an ambiguous, green‑field environment.
