Mechanical Design & Integration Internship

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design & Integration Intern to join our fast‑growing deep‑tech start‑up in Delft. You will work on building an automated calibration cell around a UFactory UF850 robotic arm and linear rail, turning design concepts into functional hardware used daily.

Key responsibilities

• Design and integrate the mechanical hardware for a robotic test and calibration cell.
• Collaborate with a fellow intern focused on robot programming to ensure seamless system operation.
• Develop and document mechanical drawings, tolerances, and assembly procedures.
• Participate in testing, measurement, and iteration of the built hardware.
• Support the scaling of sensor calibration processes for future UAV applications.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about hands‑on hardware design and seeing drawings become real products.
• Strong understanding of tolerances, stiffness, and mechanical integration.
• Ability to work full‑time (5 days/week) for a 6‑month period.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Aerospace Innovation Hub in Delft.
