Plan Approval Surveyor (Electrical)

About the role

Join the Dutch Plan Approval department of Bureau Veritas and assess electrical and automation design drawings for a wide range of vessels, ensuring compliance with class rules and statutory regulations while supporting customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assess electrical and automation design drawings of various ship types, verifying conformity with class rules and statutory regulations.
• Serve as the primary contact for shipyards, engineering firms, owners and internal BV teams, providing guidance on maritime regulations and practical feasibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience in the maritime sector, preferably with ship design.
• Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical systems and automation for ships.
• Understanding of maritime class rules and statutory regulations.
