Surveyor – New Construction

About the role

As a Surveyor you will conduct surveys on board seagoing ships during new constructions and perform periodic inspections such as annual and renewal surveys in line with class rules and international legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out surveys on new ship builds and during scheduled inspections.
• Perform technical verifications, record inspection results and ensure compliance with class rules.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to crew, ship managers and shipyards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all survey activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of seagoing engineer experience.
• Extensive technical knowledge of international maritime legislation.
• Experience as a ship surveyor is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Auditing experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering principles applied to marine vessels.
• Knowledge of international maritime legislation and class rules.
• Ship surveying techniques for new constructions and renewals.
• Auditing procedures (preferred).
