Quant Trader – Amsterdam

About the role

A leading proprietary trading team is looking for an experienced Quant Trader in Amsterdam. The role suits someone who combines market intuition with quantitative rigor and makes real-time decisions, developing and executing strategies across a wide range of asset classes and global exchanges.

Key responsibilities

• Trade a broad spectrum of assets depending on experience, including options, futures, equities, indices, volatility products, crypto, commodities and fixed income derivatives, and deploy market-making, discretionary and systematic strategies.
• Design, refine and stress-test quantitative strategies, and analyse desk performance to find ways to improve PnL and execution.
• Manage real-time trading risk across global exchanges and review execution quality, slippage and fills.
• Work with researchers and developers to improve tools, infrastructure and strategy workflows, and share insights across markets.

Required profile

• 3-10 years of quant trading experience in a prop shop, hedge fund, market maker or similar high-performance environment.
• Strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, microstructure, liquidity dynamics and algorithmic trading.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive and entrepreneurial, able to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python or C++.
• Knowledge of algorithmic trading and quantitative strategy development.
