Senior Quantum Algorithm Expert

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantum Algorithm Expert to investigate, develop and translate quantum applications that solve real‑world computational bottlenecks. In this role you will lead the development of methodologies for mapping real‑world use cases to quantum algorithms, resource‑estimating these applications, and building tools to automate these processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate quantum computing applications by mapping enterprise use cases (optimization, machine learning, finance) to quantum algorithms with proven speedups.
• Create frameworks to resource‑estimate circuit execution and translate algorithms into fault‑tolerant hardware requirements.
• Lead automation of application mapping and resource estimation, defining structure, logic and trade‑offs.
• Collaborate with Quantum Hardware and Systems Engineering teams to align algorithmic needs with physical QPU specifications.
• Stay current with academic and industry advances in quantum algorithms and quantum error correction implementations.

Required profile

• PhD in Quantum Computing, Computer Science or Quantum Information Science.
• 5+ years of post‑degree research or industry experience in quantum algorithm/application development and resource estimation.
• Strong affinity for superconducting quantum hardware and experience implementing quantum workflows on physical devices.
• Impact‑driven mindset focused on turning theoretical algorithms into practical applications.
• Collaborative attitude with ability to take ownership from day one.
