Senior Scientist – Immunology & Biotech

About the role

MAT Research is seeking a Senior Scientist with deep immunology expertise to drive R&D, product development and operational excellence in a fast‑growing biotech scale‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product development, optimisation and manufacturing pipeline for the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT) kits.
• Design and execute high‑precision immunological, cell‑based assays (PBMC isolation, ELISA, Flow Cytometry) and analytical methods.
• Maintain strict QA/QC standards, ensure regulatory compliance (ISO‑9001, GMP/GLP, ICH) and conduct safety audits.
• Supervise and train scientists and lab technicians, and provide technical updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, lead time and efficiency.

Required profile

• PhD (or MSc) in Immunology, Immuno‑oncology, Cell Biology or related field (PhD strongly preferred).
• 5+ years of industry experience in immunology‑focused R&D within biotech, pharma or CRO environments.
• Hands‑on experience with PBMC isolations, cellular assays and analytical assays (ELISA, Flow Cytometry) under regulatory standards.
• Proven track record in applied research, data analysis and quality management.
• Fluent in English; Dutch, German or French a plus.
