Team Lead / Senior Engineer - Customer Data Platform

About the role

Deployteq is looking for a Senior Engineer / Team Lead to guide and support a distributed development team building scalable, reliable systems. The role combines hands-on engineering with team leadership, working closely with the Technical Product Lead, Principal Architect, Product Owner and Product Director to turn requirements into execution while coaching engineers in a remote setup.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example through hands-on development, setting standards for code quality, performance and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers remotely, give regular feedback and help them grow technically and professionally.
• Own day-to-day execution, making sure tasks are well understood, properly scoped and delivered on time.
• Work with the Product Owner and Product Director on business requirements, turning them into epics and user stories.
• Work with the Technical Product Lead and Principal Architect on architectural decisions and technical approaches.
• Enforce engineering standards through code reviews, design discussions and continuous improvement of practices.
• Contribute to the design of scalable, distributed systems.
• Guide the team in building and operating applications in a Kubernetes-based environment.
• Facilitate clear communication and collaboration in a fully or partially remote team.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers, preferably in a remote or distributed team.
• Solid understanding of scalable architectures, APIs and system integrations.
• Pragmatic problem solver who balances speed and quality and proposes options to the Product Owner.
• Clear communicator able to align team members and collaborate across roles.

Required skills

• Backend systems in a modern programming language (Go is a strong plus).
• Kubernetes familiarity and experience with containerized applications.
• Nice to have: production Go, event-driven architectures, cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code, high-throughput systems, AI use cases.
