Assistant/Associate Professor – Policy Analysis for Vital Infrastructures

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to join the Policy Analysis section of the Multi‑Actor Systems department at TU Delft. The position combines research on vital infrastructures with teaching in our MSc and BSc programmes, contributing to solutions for complex societal challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate courses in MSc Engineering and Policy Analysis, MSc Complex Systems Engineering and Management, and BSc Technische Bestuurskunde.
• Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and support programme development.
• Develop an independent research line in policy analysis for vital infrastructures.
• Conduct research on methods for multi‑actor policy challenges across the policy cycle.
• Publish research, obtain funding, and collaborate nationally and internationally.
• Supervise PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers appropriate to career stage.
• Contribute to the academic community through service and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., policy analysis, systems engineering, or related discipline).
• Strong interest in teaching and education.
• Experience in interdisciplinary research on infrastructure systems.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders such as governments, operators, NGOs, and industry.
