IT Solution Architect Industry 4.0

About the role

The Solution IT Architect – Industry 4.0 drives the architecture and design of digital manufacturing solutions across Philips' global enterprise landscape. This role connects business strategy, manufacturing operations, and technology by enabling scalable, secure, and future‑ready integration between MES platforms, SAP ERP (ECC and S/4HANA), and shop‑floor systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead enterprise architecture for Industry 4.0 and Digital Factory initiatives, enabling scalable integration of MES, SAP ERP (ECC/S/4HANA) and shop‑floor technologies.
• Define and govern architecture roadmaps, manage assets, risks and standards across the evolving Industry 4.0 landscape.
• Design end‑to‑end solution architectures for use cases such as MES implementation, SAP integration, OT‑IT connectivity and data enablement for analytics and AI.
• Drive integration across manufacturing ecosystems, ensuring real‑time orchestration, traceability and operational excellence.
• Guide technology selection, vendor evaluation and roadmap management for global MES roll‑outs and smart‑factory programs.
• Provide hands‑on architecture leadership during solution design and implementation, fostering innovation in cloud‑native manufacturing solutions.

Required profile

• Residency in the Netherlands.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems or related field.
• Minimum 10 years (or 5 years with a Master’s) of experience in IT solution design, MES implementation, SAP ERP integration and Industry 4.0 environments.
