Biotech Manufacturing Scientist (Immunology)

About the role

MAT Research seeks a Manufacturing Scientist to develop, optimise and oversee biotech manufacturing processes for its Monocyte Activation Test kits. The role bridges scientific research, production operations and quality control to ensure scalable, high‑quality product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, refine and scale manufacturing workflows for MAT kit production, ensuring consistency and reproducibility.
• Oversee batch manufacturing, reagent preparation and formulation while enforcing GMP, ISO 9001 and other regulatory standards.
• Collect and analyse process data, conduct validation studies and drive process automation and optimisation.
• Support technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing and act as the scientific expert on the production floor.

Required profile

• PhD in immunology, biology, chemistry, engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in chemical/biological labs with strong GxP knowledge.
• Living in the Netherlands near Leiden or able to relocate quickly.
• Fluent English; additional Dutch, German or French is a strong plus.
