Customer Engagement & Industry Advocacy Lead – Europe

About the role

Adyen is seeking a Europe‑wide lead to champion both the company’s and its merchants’ voices across the payments ecosystem. The role blends deep customer engagement, industry influence and executive thought leadership to shape the future of commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and steward European Customer Advisory Boards and merchant communities, integrating their insights into product roadmaps and commercial strategies.
• Represent Adyen in industry boards, forums and regulatory working groups, debating payment trends, PSD3, open‑banking and instant‑payments frameworks.
• Lead executive conference speaking strategy, produce high‑impact thought‑leadership content and partner with Marketing and PR to amplify Adyen’s brand.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in payments, acquiring or merchant‑focused fintech.
• Proven ability to discuss and present European payment regulations and market trends.
• Track record as a keynote speaker, panelist or moderator at industry events.
• Experience building and scaling Customer Advisory Boards and executive engagement programmes.
• Demonstrated impact on product strategy and business decisions through customer insights.
• History of representing a company in industry forums and influencing regulators or card networks.
• Strong cross‑functional leadership in a global matrixed organisation.
• Strategic, entrepreneurial mindset with excellent storytelling abilities.
