Diesel Mechanic – Afrikaans speaking, 2-year contract in Netherlands

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Diesel Mechanic who can communicate fluently in Afrikaans and English to join our team in the Netherlands on a 2‑year fixed‑term contract. The role involves maintaining and repairing large, heavy‑duty trucks for a variety of European brands.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on diesel trucks (MAN, Volvo, Mercedes, Iveco, etc.).
• Diagnose and fix electrical issues using On‑Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems.
• Work in rotating shifts to ensure 24/7 workshop coverage.
• Maintain accurate service records and comply with safety standards.

Required profile

• Qualified RED SEAL Diesel Mechanic.
• 1‑5 years of experience with large diesel trucks.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Willingness to work shifts and travel to the work site.
• Maximum of 5 years experience; European citizenship is a plus.

Required skills

• Diesel engine maintenance.
• Heavy‑duty truck repair.
• Familiarity with MAN, Volvo, Mercedes, and Iveco truck systems.
• Electrical diagnostic systems (OBD).

What we offer

• 2‑year contract (40 hours/week) with potential for permanent employment.
• Salary €3,400 – €4,300 gross per month.
