Director of Bioprocess Technology Solutions (Site Support)

About the role

A rare opportunity for an experienced bioprocess leader to drive technology development, strengthen product supply, and influence the next chapter of a fast‑growing global animal health business at MSD's Boxmeer site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Bioprocess Technology Solutions (BTS) team (~25 employees) and site activities across Boxmeer, De Bilt and Cologne.
• Lead strategic process improvement for the existing vaccine portfolio and align local activities with global BTS strategy.
• Drive upstream, downstream and freeze‑drying process improvements, resolve manufacturing issues and support large‑scale production robustness.
• Oversee technology transfers, equipment modifications and evaluation of new technologies to reduce costs.
• Coach and develop BTS personnel, build capability and scout external talent and academic collaborations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in technology or engineering with over 10 years of experience in viral cell culture, bacterial fermentation, downstream processing, purification, freeze‑drying and vaccine formulation.
• Proven experience managing managers and teams in a regulated environment, strong stakeholder management and ability to drive complex multi‑site projects.
• Excellent English; Dutch preferred; willingness to work onsite at least four days a week in Boxmeer.
