Electrical Engineer – Bulk Material Handling

About the role

Join EMS-Tech Inc.'s global multidisciplinary team as an Electrical Engineer, designing and delivering high‑impact bulk material handling equipment. You will work on large‑scale conveyor systems and shiploaders, travel to international project sites, and apply your expertise in electrical design and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical systems and specify components such as transformers, switchgear, cables, motor control centers and drives.
• Create and verify 2‑D electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Program PLCs and HMIs in various languages, set VFD parameters and program field devices.
• Conduct site visits for testing, troubleshooting and training, and produce detailed technical reports.

Required profile

• MBO, HBO or bachelor’s degree in engineering science or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience in bulk material handling, maritime, offshore or industrial sectors.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD drafting of power and control schematics (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• PLC programming and HMI development (multiple languages).
• Electrical component sizing and selection (transformers, switchgear, motors, etc.).
• Advanced troubleshooting in construction, testing and operational environments.
