Interim Junior Financial Controller – 6‑month, 24‑32 hrs/week

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Junior Financial Controller to support our finance team on a 6‑month assignment (24‑32 hours per week). The role combines daily accounting tasks with month‑end reporting and audit preparation, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial reporting, including schedules, balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Perform daily accounting activities such as transaction processing, bookkeeping, invoice handling and related administrative tasks.
• Support actual‑vs‑budget analysis and ad‑hoc financial reporting.
• Help during the annual audit by rolling forward working papers, preparing sample documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Maintain accurate books and clean documentation to ensure smooth month‑end processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field (or working towards ACCA/CIMA).
• 1–2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or financial administration.
• Organised, reliable and comfortable taking direction from a Financial Controller.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Required skills

• Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• Proficiency with accounting software.
