Project Associate – Labour Mobility, Social Inclusion & Resettlement

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support its Labour Mobility, Social Inclusion & Resettlement unit in The Hague. Working under the Senior Project Assistant, the associate will help manage and implement projects that promote humane and orderly migration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, monitoring and reporting of unit projects.
• Coordinate with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners.
• Support the preparation of project documentation, proposals and budgets.
• Facilitate communication with migrants, refugees, IDPs and other vulnerable groups.
• Contribute to the analysis of Dutch asylum, migration and integration legislation as it applies to project activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field, plus at least three years of relevant experience; or a high‑school diploma with five years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience liaising with government bodies, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons or victims of trafficking.
• Previous work in an international humanitarian or multicultural environment is an advantage.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Dutch asylum, migration and integration legislation, policies and their practical application.
