Quantum Design Engineer

About the role

QuantWare is developing next‑generation superconducting quantum processors. As a Quantum Design Engineer you will drive the design, simulation and optimisation of qubit chips, modular QPU architectures and non‑reciprocal superconducting circuits.

Key responsibilities

• Design and simulate quantum hardware to improve performance, coherence and scalability.
• Develop manufacturable device architectures that increase qubit fidelity and yield.
• Architect and optimise layouts of parametric amplifiers and other non‑reciprocal circuits for cryogenic operation.
• Interpret simulation results, correlate with experimental data and iterate designs rapidly.
• Automate the design pipeline with Python for parametric generation, simulation sweeps and data post‑processing.

Required profile

• MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years industry experience, or a PhD with relevant hands‑on work.
• Strong Python programming skills for automation, simulation control and data analysis.
• Experience with EM simulation and chip design tools such as Ansys HFSS‑Q3D and KLayout.
• Familiarity with Git version control; knowledge of Qiskit‑Metal is a plus.
