About the role
Adyen is looking for a Java‑focused Software Engineer to join its Identity & Verification Services team in Amsterdam. You will own the design, implementation, and operation of core platforms that ensure regulatory compliance and trusted customer identities throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build highly scalable, reliable distributed systems that support Adyen’s identity and verification processes.
- Develop KYC data collection and automated verification workflows for customer onboarding.
- Contribute to the platform framework for onboarding legal entities and integrating identity capabilities.
- Define and monitor Service Level Objectives, implement robust alerting, and create observability tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, onboarding teams, merchant operations, and regulatory groups to deliver solutions.
Required profile
- Strong foundation in Java with experience building web services and REST APIs.
- Experience designing and maintaining highly scalable, reliable distributed systems.
- Proficiency with SQL/PostgreSQL and database best practices.
- Commitment to operational excellence, including monitoring, SLOs, and resilience patterns.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
