About the role

As a Principal Delivery Engineer (Mechanical) you will shape and deliver the technical vision for Global Switch’s capital projects, ensuring robust, innovative engineering solutions that align with business objectives and industry standards. You will provide expert technical leadership across multiple campuses, coordinating design and delivery while collaborating with engineering managers, directors, and site‑based technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define comprehensive technical specifications and project briefs aligned with business objectives and regulatory standards.
• Oversee integration of multidisciplinary design elements, ensuring compliance with local, national and international codes.
• Critically assess design proposals for robustness, scalability and cost efficiency, identifying opportunities to enhance resilience and reduce lifecycle costs.
• Detect, document and resolve infrastructure deficiencies, implementing corrective actions to maintain system integrity.
• Perform impartial evaluations of critical systems, mitigating single points of failure.
• Maintain risk registers, regularly reviewing and managing design‑related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and execute contingency strategies to address project delays and ensure timely recovery.
• Conduct technical and financial analyses of design options, considering long‑term operational and maintenance implications.

• Proven track record delivering complex, mission‑critical infrastructure projects across multiple sites or regions.
