Senior Data Engineer

About the role

DataSnipper is building an intelligent automation platform for audit and finance, and the Data Platform team powers every product decision. As a Senior Data Engineer you will own the end‑to‑end ingestion, transformation, and modeling pipelines that feed trusted data into Snowflake and downstream analytics tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate event ingestion architecture using Azure Event Hubs, Snowpipe, Fivetran and shared Python/TypeScript client libraries.
• Build and maintain dbt transformation pipelines on a medallion architecture, ensuring reliability as volume and model complexity grow.
• Own Snowflake performance, cost optimisation, and compliance obligations such as audit logging and vulnerability remediation.
• Develop reverse‑ETL flows to push modeled data back into business tools like HubSpot, MongoDB, Postgres and GTM reporting.
• Provide guardrails, tooling and documentation that enable product teams to create events, models and dashboards themselves.

Required profile

• 7+ years of data engineering or related backend/platform experience, preferably as an early member of a data team.
• Deep expertise in SQL and Python, with strong query optimisation and performance tuning on Snowflake.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake) and modern transformation frameworks (dbt).
• Proven track record with event‑driven/streaming ingestion and handling schema drift, duplication and backfills.
• Experience operating on Azure infrastructure (or comparable cloud platforms) and using Terraform for IaC.
• Excellent communication in English and comfort working directly with non‑technical stakeholders.
