Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the evolution of the cloud platform that powers OMRON Connect, a large digital‑health service used by millions worldwide. The role is fully remote and will focus on building a reliable, scalable and cost‑efficient foundation for our engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Modernise and extend the AWS‑based platform that supports OMRON Connect, ensuring high availability and performance for millions of monthly active users.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions to automate provisioning, configuration and deployment.
• Introduce and maintain observability tooling, metrics and alerting to improve reliability.
• Drive continuous delivery pipelines and promote safe, automated release processes.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product owners and international teams (including Japan) to align platform standards and tooling.
• Mentor other engineers and champion best practices in security, scalability and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating large‑scale cloud platforms, preferably on AWS.
• Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices and a pragmatic approach to technical debt.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while influencing cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a focus on delivering reliable, production‑grade solutions.
