Senior Sales Engineer, Embedded Hardware Solutions

About the role

A global technology company developing hardware and software for telecommunications, networking, industrial automation and connected devices is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to support embedded hardware solutions across telecommunications, industrial IoT, networking and connected device markets. The role acts as a technical bridge between customers, sales and engineering teams, helping customers evaluate, design and deploy embedded computing platforms. It is based in the Netherlands, Germany or England and is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with account executives and business development teams on the sales process
• Understand customer technical and business needs and recommend embedded computing and hardware solutions
• Design and present system-level architectures using embedded processors, SoCs, edge computing platforms, wireless and networking solutions
• Deliver presentations, demonstrations, workshops and customer training
• Develop proof-of-concepts, reference architectures and prototypes
• Support evaluations, integration, validation testing, benchmarking and deployment
• Help customers with embedded software integration, cloud connectivity and edge computing architectures
• Work with engineering, product management and technical support teams
• Share market feedback and customer insights to influence the product roadmap
• Create technical documentation, solution guides and application notes
• Represent the company at customer meetings, conferences and trade shows

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years in Sales Engineering, Field Applications Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering or a similar customer-facing technical role
• Experience supporting OEMs or customers in telecommunications, networking, industrial automation, transportation, medical devices or related fields
• Willingness to travel as required

Required skills

• Embedded hardware architectures: processors, microcontrollers, SoCs, networking hardware, board-level design
• Embedded software with C/C++ or Python
• Communication interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, CAN
• Embedded Linux and/or RTOS
• Cloud-connected devices, IoT, edge computing and major cloud platforms
• Hardware debugging, validation and test equipment
• Preferred: FPGA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, 5G, LPWAN, functional safety and carrier-grade platforms
