Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help rebuild Stream’s platform as we migrate from AWS to GCP, adopt Kubernetes, and move large PostgreSQL workloads to self-hosted clusters. The role is based in Amsterdam with a hybrid schedule and also offers remote work within Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate infrastructure for real-time systems handling millions of concurrent connections and billions of API requests.
• Drive end-to-end Kubernetes adoption, including cluster architecture, workload design and migration of existing services.
• Re-architect workloads for the AWS-to-GCP migration, focusing on cost and performance.
• Own cloud cost optimisation, measure spend, and implement efficiency levers.
• Write production-grade Go and Python services, platform tooling and automation.
• Lead post-migration tuning, capacity planning and on-call incident response.

Required profile

• 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, DevOps or SRE engineering with deep hands-on experience.
• Production coding experience in Go or Python; not just scripting.
• Proven experience designing and operating Kubernetes at scale and leading migrations.
• Demonstrated cloud cost optimisation on AWS or GCP with measurable results.
• Experience running high-scale, high-load production systems.
