Staff Data Scientist - Marketing

About the role

Join Preply’s growing Data Team to lead the Marketing Mix Model (MMM) and drive data‑driven budget decisions across the organization. You will work closely with product, marketing and finance stakeholders to turn complex analyses into actionable strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end Marketing Mix Model, expanding it from a US‑only model to a global, hierarchical platform that automates budget allocation.
• Translate MMM outputs into concrete budget decisions, partnering with performance marketing and finance teams.
• Design and run incrementality tests (geo experiments and other causal inference methods) to measure ROI and inform the testing roadmap.
• Develop a unified measurement framework that integrates MMM, attribution and incrementality insights.
• Build and scale a self‑service platform for budget planning and testing, collaborating with engineers and data engineers.

Required profile

• Strong AI mindset: use automation and AI to accelerate work and enable stakeholders.
• Hands‑on experience with Marketing Mix Modeling and Bayesian statistics.
• Proven ability to turn analytical outputs into strategic actions for marketing and finance.
• Expertise in designing causal inference experiments and A/B tests.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
