Staff Software Engineer: Platform SRE

About the role

Flexport is looking for a senior engineer to own and evolve the platform infrastructure that powers all engineering teams. You will proactively identify risks, improve resilience, and make the system easier to operate at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure on AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Maintain and evolve Kubernetes, Helm charts and Argo deployment pipelines with safety guardrails.
• Advance the observability stack (OpenMetrics, Datadog) to provide clear system insights.
• Define Terraform standards, support CI/CD pipelines (Buildkit, GitHub Actions) and improve incident‑response tooling.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software, SRE or infrastructure engineering experience on production systems.
• Deep hands‑on expertise with AWS, multi‑account and multi‑region architectures.
• Strong Infrastructure‑as‑Code background, especially Terraform, and a track record of automated, reusable patterns.
• Proven ability to lead incident response, conduct blameless post‑mortems and drive follow‑ups.
