About the role
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to service marine diesel engines and generator systems for commercial vessels, offshore assets and marine installations across Europe. Based in the Netherlands, you will travel to customer sites, shipyards and vessels, performing maintenance, repairs and commissioning.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, repair, overhaul, installation and commissioning of marine diesel engines and generator systems.
- Visit vessels, shipyards, offshore platforms and customer sites throughout Europe and occasional worldwide assignments.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective repair solutions.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
- Prepare for assignments by ensuring tools, spare parts and documentation are available.
- Produce detailed service reports and technical documentation after each site visit.
- Identify additional work requirements and communicate recommendations to customers and management.
- Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support to vessel crews and customers.
- Work independently or as part of a team on major overhauls and project activities.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company/industry regulations.
Required profile
- Proven experience servicing and maintaining marine diesel engines and generator systems.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills in marine propulsion and power generation equipment.
- Experience with marine gearboxes, clutches and auxiliary machinery is advantageous.
- Self‑motivated with excellent customer‑facing and communication abilities.
- Comfortable working onboard vessels, in shipyards and offshore environments.

- Basic salary of €4,000 per month plus overtime and travel allowances.
