Junior Legal Counsel

About the role

As Junior Legal Counsel for Fastned in the Netherlands, you will support the legal team in managing compliance and corporate affairs. This broad, generalist position focuses on GDPR/privacy and internal policies while handling day‑to‑day corporate housekeeping. The role offers growth into contract review, consumer law, regulatory matters and other corporate topics.

Key responsibilities

• Own key compliance topics, especially GDPR and privacy, including maintaining the Register of Processing Activities, reviewing Data Processing Agreements, advising on privacy‑by‑design, conducting assessments, handling data subject requests and supporting third‑party risk assessments.
• Maintain, update and roll out Fastned’s internal policies and support awareness and training initiatives across the organisation.
• Handle corporate housekeeping tasks such as preparing board and shareholder resolutions, powers of attorney, KvK filings, UBO registrations, maintaining corporate registers and supporting signing and notarial processes.
• Act as a generalist legal counsel for the Dutch and wider European team, reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts including NDAs, services agreements, procurement agreements and general terms and conditions.
• Drive optimisation and standardisation of legal processes, developing templates, playbooks, contract management systems and DocuSign workflows.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide timely input to internal processes.

Required profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong communication skills and a collaborative, pleasant personality.
• Comfortable using digital tools and curious about technology and AI to make legal work more efficient.
• Proactive attitude, able to drive projects forward in a junior, generalist role.
• Quick and flexible learner who is intellectually curious, open‑minded, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Master’s degree (LLM) in Dutch law (commercial, corporate or privacy focus) and 1‑3 years of relevant legal experience, with affinity for compliance and corporate law.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
