Field Engineer / Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

This is the execution‑focused half of a Forward Deployed Engineering function at an early‑stage fintech building global business identity infrastructure. You sit at the intersection of customers, product, and engineering, owning the technical success of implementations end‑to‑end and feeding real‑world signal back into the product.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to scope technical requirements early in the implementation lifecycle.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for integrations, onboarding, and product roll‑outs.
• Troubleshoot integration issues in production and guide customers toward scalable, long‑term solutions.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and resolve friction in implementation flows.
• Improve documentation, tooling, and internal processes to make future implementations faster and smoother.

Required profile

• 4‑5+ years of experience in customer‑facing technical roles such as field engineering, solutions engineering, or integration delivery.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting technical integration issues in production environments.
• Solid knowledge of modern web application stacks and APIs (REST, webhooks, event‑driven architectures).
• Production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or JavaScript and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Proven ability to scope technical requirements and design implementation approaches in partnership with customers.
