Financial Controller

About the role

Cradle is looking for its first Financial Controller to bring the group’s accounting in‑house and build the finance machinery from the ground up. You will design core financial processes, automate repetitive tasks and ensure accurate reporting across multiple entities. The role requires a hands‑on approach and close collaboration with operations, people and legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the group’s accounting, transitioning from external partners to an internal function.
• Build end‑to‑end procure‑to‑pay, order‑to‑cash and record‑to‑report processes with robust controls.
• Automate manual finance tasks using tools such as Ramp and Campfire.
• Deliver accurate, timely reporting across entities, currencies and reporting frameworks.
• Establish audit‑ready documentation and control trails.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash analysis, tax structuring and future funding rounds.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in accounting or controlling, preferably with audit or in‑house startup experience.
• Ownership of month‑end close processes from start to finish.
• Proven track record of building or improving finance processes in fast‑changing environments.
• Hands‑on experience with a traditional ERP or comparable modern finance stack.
• Ability to connect finance with people, legal and operational domains.
• Familiarity with Dutch, Swiss and/or US statutory reporting requirements.
• Strong prioritisation and clear documentation skills.
• Willingness to work in the office at least three days per week.
